Project Description
This project was a new station scheme procured through Network Rail, which moved the majority of the station building form onto the elevated island platform.
Facilities at platform level include ticket office, booking hall, train operator facilities, disabled toilet and glazed enclosed waiting rooms all within a canopied structure. Protection from the weather in this exposed location is a priority.
The form of the buildings at platform level are elevated to enhance the presence of the station as a transport gateway signalling this important node. Materials have been chosen for their crisp appearance, resilient properties and continued Mersey Travel pallet.
